Nope, I had the old fashioned version with 3 big incisions. But my daughter-in-law just had robotic surgery a week ago to remove about 8 inches of her colon. And it was amazing! Wow! What a process and she recovered so quickly! They had her up walking and eating on the same day of the surgery. I couldnโt believe it. So happy you will experience, evidently, the latest in robotic surgery. Best to you. Love and prayers. ๐๐๐
Judy Hailey I did have a spot that was super sensitive to the touch for 2 or 3 weeks. For the surgery they gave me a numbing agent "exparel" I think it was called, that left a large area numb for about 3 or 4 days.
I was out of work 2 months. There was a fair amount of pain the first couple weeks. Keep up with pain meds. I started with oxycodone for a week then started swapping in tylenol as the pain started getting easier. Breathing was definitely affected up front. Very easily out of breath. 4 months out I can tell I'm not 100% but close. Do the exercises they prescribe religiously. It helps recovery a lot. I did get an infection in one of the incision sites. I has a lot of numbness and tenderness near incision site and below. There was some nerve damage that took a long time to recover from. Overall the experience though nerve wracking wasn't terrible. They seem very certain they got everything in my case and are hopeful I should be cured.
How was your recovery any side effects
I had R.A.T.S. back in April. I had a wedge resection on my lower right lobe. I'd be happy to answer any questions I can from my experience.
