Wonderful that you are in remission. Pray that you get to feeling better each day.

I am in remission. Stage IV NSCLC. I took keytruda. I have not had any real side effects. The main one has been my hands do not open or make fists like they had before. I still feel tired and have no energy to do things. Normal everyday activities are more of a chore. Also my legs are weak. I can not stand in shower very long. I can not sit or get down on the floor. I'm sure I can make down there, I know that I can not get up without help. I also can not cross my legs(Indian style).

It's actually more common than you might think to feel worse after finishing treatment β€” and it can feel really unfair after everything you've been through. The good news is there are some clear reasons why this might be happening.

Keytruda (pembrolizumab) is an immunotherapy, and even after stopping it, it can continue to affect your immune system for weeks or months. Pneumonitis β€” inflammation of the lung tissue β€” is a known side effect of immunotherapy that can appear or worsen even *after* treatment ends. The fatigue and shakiness you're feeling are likely connected to your body dealing with pneumonitis or pneumonia, both of which take a real toll. Common symptoms that go along with this include:

- Ongoing tiredness
- Shortness of breath
- Coughing
- General weakness

These symptoms can linger and make daily life feel harder than expected. It's really important to stay in close contact with your oncologist right now. Pneumonitis after immunotherapy is something they'll want to monitor carefully and may treat with steroids or other medications.

Please don't ignore any worsening symptoms β€” especially fever, increased breathlessness, or chest pain. Those would warrant a prompt call to your care team or a visit to the ER.
