I had SBRT for NSCLC adenocarcinoma stage 1. 3 sessions, 3-4 days apart. No side effects except for fatigue, low energy and not much stamina. Some really good days and others with above symptoms. I am almost 78 so I chose not to have surgery. Ask LOTS of questions, please!

In April 2019 I had radiation (SBRT) on my lower left lobe, where the cancer had returned. I had 30 treatments over 6 weeks. It radiated the cancer only, no tissue damage and I felt great every day after, no tiredness, no side effects of any kind and I'm now almost 7 years cancer free. I still get CT every three months due to COVID in 2023 that ended up being Aspergillosis Fungal Pneumonia. Fungal antibiotics for ever and doing well. I live in the Seattle Wa. area and the Top Cancer Clinics and Doctors that use the most innovative treatments.

For lung cancer, SRS is sometimes used to treat metastases that have spread to the brain instead of whole-brain radiation. It's also part of a broader category called stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), which can be used to treat early-stage lung cancer.

During treatment, you would lie on a table while a machine (like CyberKnife) delivers precise radiation to the tumor site for about 10 to 40 minutes. After the session, you can go home the same day.
