The side effects sound horrendous. Are there people out there who never really suffered to badly? Having stage 4 lung cancer I’m doubting it’s worth it? Please help

How can you manage the fear of side effects from chemotherapy and immunotherapy for stage 4 lung cancer?
It's completely normal to feel scared before starting treatment. Many people share these same worries, and your cancer care team is there to support you through this journey.

Thank you for that. I’m starting treatment 7th Jan
I have stage 4 lung cancer that spread to my brain. On Feb.4th I was rushed to the hospital where they did surgery and removed a brain tumor. I was also diagnosed with cancer at the same time. Your right it is very scary and you are always going to have times when your scared and nervous. Most of my family has passed away from cancer so I do know how far research has come. There are so many new medications and treatments out there. I have had radiation and then I was on Chemo and immunotherapy. I am now only doing immunotherapy. I am classified as stable . After my sessions with Chemo and immunotherapy tests showed my tumors had shrunk by 50%. and that there was no cancer anywhere else in my body. I have testing every 3 months and my tumors have stayed the same and there has been no new cancer anywhere in my body. I feel very blessed and very grateful. You have to stay positive and have faith and hope. Live each day like the gift it truly is and make it as happy as you can.
Thank you all done now. Treatment starts 7th Jan. Everyone so nice and calmed my fears. Very little hair loss apparently on the chemo I am on but have to hold off on the bone one until I have all treatment needed by dentist. I feel ready to do this now after getting a much better prognosis than I first thought. Just got to stay positive! 😊
Sending along a prayer for you also 🙏 if you have questions I'm sure there is someone there to help with them. I went through the chemo with not much hair loss. At first every time I brushed there was always a little that came out. Looking back now 2 years ago its growing curly and alot more gray. I also made hats on a loom lol I made 78 they came in handy. Gave away a few and still have many to give out. I never got sick maybe a little nauseous but was given some meds for that. Blessings to you on this next journey!
