We watched 8 lung nodules, distributed through both lungs, grow into glowing tumors over a 2 year span. First with PET/CT scans every 6 months, then when the largest ones were up to 7 mm, every 6 weeks until two of them were 9 mm and a lymph node started glowing. They don't like to try for a biopsy until the target is 10 mm or larger, but luckily my pulmonologist was able to do it by EBUS. The day they told me it was stage 4 lung cancer, I didn't have any symptoms associated with it.
If I had not gone in for a normal chest ex ray I would still be walking around with no idea I have cancer! I have no pain any where & I have stage 4 mast.non small lung cancer, with brain cancer. I have had 6 treatments of chemo plus Imunoralogy. They did a knife radiation on my brain. .brain has not advanced , lung has shrunk & is black now instead of being lit up. Have no after effects of treatment other a few things with my mouth & a rash on my chest & arms.
I have had different degrees of pain because it metastasized to my scapula. When it eats at the bone it's very painful. Luckily once the tumor shrinks it gets better.
I'm also stage 4 with mets. Get some aches, especially in the back and sometimes chest but no pain at all usually.
I don’t ever remember having pain. Aches and cramps in legs from treatment once in a while but that’s it.
