It took about a month for me to receive the results following the biomarker biopsy. Definitely a frustrating time. I already had received a diagnosis of stage 4 NSCLC, but until the results of the biomarker biopsy was in, there was no treatment plan developed. No one told me about the waiting part following various procedures, scans, and biopsies. The waiting is all part of the cancer journey, unfortunately, but necessary.

Do you know the type and stage?
For patients and loved ones, waiting is a constant and frustrating part of this journey. My doctors had already put a treatment plan in motion between the biopsy and waiting for the biomarkers results. My wife came down with COVID, so my treatment was delayed 10 days, by which time the results came back and the plan was changed. The initial plan would have been harder on my system, so I'm glad(?) my wife got the virus.

It took mine a month to come back and it seemed like another month before they got everything worked out and coordinated between chemo and radiation.

Thank you Abe, It is definitely the hardest part… I really appreciate your response it helps to normalize this process…

My biomarker was about a month and PD-L1 was about 6 weeks. Waiting sucks!
