I get a CT with contrast every three months. I'm on infinzi.
I said I have a PET/CT every 3 months, but my medical provider is the Nashville VA, where they have their own equipment and aren't limited by Medicare or commercial insurance cost restrictions.
Unless Medicare has increased their limit, I believe it is 3 PET scans total. Usually used for diagnosis, then to monitor effectiveness of treatment, then for re-staging or surveillance post-treatment. There was talk of increasing the number to 4. Additional scans are at the discretion of the Regional Medicare Director on a case-by-case basis.
I have had 1 PET scan 6 CT scans and 1 MRI for the brain. I am newly diagnosed but have a few issues going on at one time. I don't think I will have any sooner then September for lung. The rest are all being removed by surgery. So I guess case by case. Wish you the best.
Thank you praying you continue to stay stable. God Bless you.
