Hi April, My doctor believes that a good quality CT scan every 3 months is an effective way to monitor response. PET scans are very expensive and sometimes insurance does not cover them. However, if the CT scan shows something new or if it is not clear, your MD may choose to follow-up with a PET.

I had a PET scan done followed by a biopsy in October of 22. I was diagnosed with cancer of the lymph nodes on the left lung In November 22. I only had one but plenty of CT's and MRI for the spread to my brain. So far things are going well.💪 If the CT can't see things clearly I suppose it would be necessary. Positive and strong! We got this together

I get my CT scans every 3 months

I’ve been getting scans every three to four months for the past five years. Had one in early September and another scheduled this Saturday.

I had 2nd one right before my surgery in .May...then have a 3rd scheduled in February to see if radiation worked..I guess
