Hi Nancy. Yes I am stage 4. No surgery or radiation just chemo and keytruda. It's been one year since diagnosis. I wish you well.

Ok, this is a complicated, incomplete reply. I was on chemo and Kytruda for the first two years. I did radiation at the two year mark that resulted in Radiation Pneumonitis. My oncologist thought Kytruda exacerbated the problem and took me off Kytruda infusing only Olympta for the next two years.

Olympta alone worked for awhile but then about 8 months ago two new tumors appeared in my lung. I went back on Kytruda and one tumor does not appear and the other shrunk. I know this doesn’t answer the Kytruda question, but it is a tribute to the efficacy of Kytruda.

Surgery and radiation are usually not used to treat stage 4 LC, as they only address a small area compared to the system wide treatment required to combat metastatic disease. They are used to relieve pain caused by large tumors and for metastasis to the brain and sometimes other organs, like the liver.
It takes a number of treatments before you will see positive results. How many infusions have you had? I personally had chemo along with Keytruda for 4 cycles before going with Keytruda alone.

Stage 4. Had surgery to remove tumors Radiation for 2 weeks On Lumakras and met s getting smaller. Thank You Jesus

I had four carboplatin two with keytruda now next week just keytruda.
