The answer is that late stage and stage four cancer are the same thing. The cancer has spread to other organs of the body. At this stage no more treatment will help or maybe it will. I have stage four N S C L C that has moved to my adrenal gland after they found out it had moved I got radiation and was put on a new drug to treat the tumor at no point in time did anyone mention a problem with longevity or to get my affairs in order. As long as you keep a good attitude you can help yourself more than you think. I had a C T scan on the 28th of January and the results showed the tumor shrinking and no movement. Stay positive you are the same person as you were before with something in your body you don't need, the doctors know that and will help you. You help them and yourself with a good attitude.

Carl that's a perfect answer. I been fighting this beast for 20 years. I was told when I was 49 that a lobectomy and chemo would give me 5 years. Here I am at 69 still fighting. Unfortunately they seen another small nodule a couple weeks ago after my lobectomy 10 years ago. I will continue to fight.

For me I have increased my fruit and vegetable intake and have tried to eat more fish, beans and legumes. I am always trying to cut back on my sweets. Maybe it helps- maybe it doesn’t. I just want to give my body any ammunition I can to fight this horrible disease.
