Colleen,
Lung cancer doesn't technically mets to the other lung, rather they form from the same cancer (usually).
What type and stage is it? Small-cell, Non-small cell, adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma or large cell carcinoma?
Don't concentrate on life expectancy, but think about life and how you are going to fight the cancer.
Stay positive!

I’m sorry. Mets to liver. Nsc. Squamous cell carcinoma stage 4. I am a very positive person but also a realist. I had upper left lung removed may 2. 3 month s can Mets to liver. Probably begin chemo. And immunotherapy soon. Got a port. The hard part for me is I’m not sick. Walk at least 3 miles a day. Very active. Thank you for your support
