I wish I had physical therapy after my surgery! Your Doc is thinking the right way!
Hi Eileen
I found this in one of the articles in resources.
Physical therapy is often prescribed to aid recovery. Exercises can help clear bronchial fluids, expand the chest, improve posture, increase range of motion in the shoulder, and promote general conditioning. Each of these aspects is important for healing respiratory muscles and regaining strength.
I didn't have physical therapy after my surgery but it sounds like a good idea.

I had PT for other issues after I was diagnosed and swear by it but you have to be faithful to doing the exercises. I am now going to pulmonary rehab, which is PT. Most of pulmonary rehab patients have COPD so I'm on a specialized plan - at least, I think I am.
