It sounds like you are only a stage 1??? If so, you have , I believe about a 65% chance of exceeding 5 yrs. I have read that a lot of people have made it many years and still going. Make sure that they are watching you closely. Beware of so much info on life expectancy because many are outdated because of so many new meds and treatments being used. Do everything that you can do that is healthy and have a great mindset and you , I believe, do not have an expiration date! Good Luck!

It sounds like you are very lucky to have had it found in the very early stages and able to be removed. If it did not spread and was totally removed it sounds like you are in pretty good shape. Be sure to continue to get tested since early detection is key.

I had similar surgery 8 yrs ago, was told I could live another 20-40 yrs if I take care of myself properly (diet-exercise)

Not know the answer to that. My upper right lobe was removed September 14 of 2020. It was putting Thur the lining of the lung. I think some of it escaped . I had my six-month check up and CT scan showed there’s a spot on top of the middle lobe Which would be my top lung now . their plan of action is to wait three months and take another CT scan and do lab work. Myself and my Family are not happy with that I’m scared it’s something that could go somewhere else it wasn’t there before is it fast acting they they didn’t do no pet scans just a CT scan so I am getting a second opinion and see what they say. But I don’t know how long we get to live but I’m scared I’m so scared that new spot is going to go other placesAnd if they wait for three months where can it go to and how fast can it spread in three months no biopsy nothing just wait and see so I’m not happy with that I’m getting a second opinion. I’m very uncomfortable with their plan of action.

Was it your right or your left lung? Did you have to have chemo?
