My cancer clinic has a support team that helps with finances, counseling and finding a place to stay while in treatment. Your navigator should be able to connect you.

Navigating the financial side of lung cancer treatment is genuinely tough, and you're not alone in feeling the pressure — especially while waiting for a lobectomy and chemotherapy. Here are some financial assistance options worth exploring:

Insurance-Based Help
- Medicaid – for low-income individuals
- Medicare – if you're 65+ or have a disability
- Social Security Disability – if lung cancer prevents you from working

Prescription Drug Assistance
- RxAssist – directory of patient assistance programs
- NeedyMeds – nonprofit with drug and state program listings
- PhRMA Medicine Assistance Tool – matches you with medication resources
- SingleCare – free prescription discount cards

Other Financial Help
- HealthWell Foundation – helps cover specific NSCLC treatment costs
- CancerCare Co-Payment Assistance – helps with copays
- PAN Foundation's FundFinder – alerts you to available financial assistance One of the best steps you can take is speaking with an oncology social worker — most hospitals have one on staff. They can help identify programs you qualify for and guide you through enrollment. You can also reach CancerCare directly at (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators).

A patient navigator is another great resource — they specialize in helping people find both medical and financial support during treatment.

Talk to your cancer support group at the hospital. I am very fortunate in my hospital Evergreen Healthcare in Kirkland Wa. is the only private hospital in the state. It's the #1 hospital in the state. All the Big hospitals, associated with Univ. of Wa. have all joined the BIG conglomerates and aren't into giving much help. There are non-profits that you can get help through, ask care team. I get 100% charity care after my Medicare Advantage pays. It is humbling, but it takes the stress off and I know I can continue my care without worrying how I'm going to pay. My husband had to retire because he has Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. Medication to keep him alive is $24k/monthly. We get it through a nonprofit called Prescription Lifeline.org. So, if you have any issues paying for your meds, give them a call, they will give you help if the drug is one they are associated with, always check all options.
Good luck and I'll pray for you that all will work out in your favor. If we don't ask, we don't know what's available
Blessings💜🙏🏼👆🏼🤗✝️
