Yes, when your already sick. Struggling to balance it makes sense to reach out for help. I believe you have to learn how to survive and flourish despite limitations. Whatever challenges I have to face I feel confident that if I need help I will reach out. I use to think that strength was overcoming the challenge but now I see it's accepting and integrating those challenges. My therapy assists me with the fears, anxieties and depression I feel. I develope coping skills that help me. Cancer is hard. Makes sense to get help.
Hey Brian: I talk to a therapist every two weeks. My cancer (2017) is presently stable but my Copd is advanced. I'm on oxygen 24/7 and im basically homebound. I'm 79 years old. I've had problems with depression/anxiety when dealing with my health challenges. So I feel it's helpful to speak to a professional. It's saved me time and help me to find a positive direction..
I've learned coping skills.
I'm grateful for the help I have received. It's given me hope. Hope that despite my health issues I can still fine joy/gratitude for each day.
