My taste buds have changed greatly and I have a very dry mouth. I took imfinzi for a year but before that I had chemo and radiation so I can’t say for sure what caused this. Eating fruit is the big issue now. Many many fruits taste sour. I always ask my husband if they really are. I continue to eat fruit hoping it’s going to improve.
I never leave home without water due to
My dry mouth. I also have a Dixie cup
On my nightstand for sipping during the night. This has improved a little bit since the start but not much.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m grateful
For the treatment I received to prolong life but some days it’s still tuff but we got this.
I haven't lost my taste and don't have a metallic taste in my mouth. But Ive lost 15 pounds since May because everything tastes so nasty. Plus I have dry mouth. I'm asking my provider today for a prescription for the dry mouth. I got some very high calorie Boost. 530 calories in 8 ozs. I have started drinking 2 daily. I'm also going to just focus on eating fruit, salad, yogurt and juices. Drinks and cold things aren't as bad tasting.
I also have a prescription toothpaste. Food taste different but I haven't lost my taste. Drinks are the hardest. Sweet is also accentuated so I have to be careful there. I am going to try some grapes and berries. Watermelon too.
Debbie none of the OTC stuff has helped but my dentist gave me a sample of something new to try. Its also OTC. if that doesn't help she said there are more options. Have you found yourself eating less because of dry mouth? Definitely affects everyone differently. I find fruit the most tolerable.
Does anyone have an issue of severe heartburn/ acid reflux after dinner. Happens to me every night. My doctor had me add another dose of my Prilosec but it didn’t help.
Anyone have a cure?
