Ground-glass opacities are areas that appear white and hazy on CT scans of your lungs. They get their name because they look similar to frosted glass - fuzzy or cloudy areas on the lung scan. These areas show up during imaging tests when there are changes in your lung tissue.
For someone with stage 4 lung cancer, new areas of ground-glass opacities could represent changes related to your cancer. However, it's important to have your doctor interpret these specific findings in the context of your overall condition and treatment plan. These areas are typically identified through CT scans, which create detailed three-dimensional images of your lungs. The CT scanner takes X-rays from multiple angles to help your doctor precisely locate and evaluate these opacities. Your healthcare team will use these images along with other tests to monitor your condition and adjust your treatment plan as needed.

That is what has been showing up on my right lower lobe. Then 6 weeks ago it turned into a 1 cm nodule. I had a scan Monday that showed it resolved itself. My oncologist says it happens. If it is more liquid than solid, then it can resolve on its own. Not in my case but most usually you have some type of infection going on. I am back to getting a cat scan every 6 months instead of once a year. This has been quite a stressful time. I was thinking I was going in to schedule a biopsy talk with radiology and just like that it is gone. I do feel so blessed. I will pray everything works out for you and everyone here. I say live your life stay positive and be kind.
