Members rallied around someone anxiously waiting for bronchoscopy results, with experiences varying widely from same-day results to several weeks due to factors like weather delays, pathology lab locations, and even hurricanes, though most reported receiving results within 3-7 days. When the original poster shared a Stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer diagnosis and upcoming chemotherapy, the community responded with fierce solidarity, practical encouragement about treatment experiences, and personal stories of successful outcomes with chemo, radiation, and immunotherapy. A recurring theme was the power of taking action through treatment to fight back against fear, the importance of leaning on faith and community support, and the shared understanding that while the diagnosis feels crushing, many members are living well and thriving after similar journeys.

Hi Cindy. I know this isn't the news you wanted and if will take some time to process. You have a lot of support here. Lonnie said it very well. I'm currently undergoing chemo. Just finished my 3rd treatment out of 8. I'm doing fine. Keep us posted on your plan. As devastating as a cancer dx is, once you start a treatment it feels like you are getting to fight back!

I had mine the same day, I would think that the hospital at Lake O would have a pathology department, if not the sample would have to be sent to St. Louis or Kansas City to be read. With the weather today and yesterday I don.t know how many people will make it to work. Hang in there Cindy.

That was not my experience. I had results in 4 days. My Dr. called me after the procedure and laid out what I should expect to hear and when and how. He called back in 3 days and said he had the results and set up a video session to explain everything. I think that timely and frequent communication from your treatment team is vital. It has saved me countless hours of worry and dread.

Cindy, I wish the news was different. You may well be feeling crushed by the news. I know I was when they told me the same thing. i found the Chemo to be difficult but tolerable. I didn't try to plan much during that time and just let me body rest and take the help that was offered (I'm not good at accepting help). As the chemo took hold I had radiation. That was no big deal except that it was everyday. In and out in about 15 min. Then came the immunotherapy and that was really easy. I feel great now. I can do most anything I want and I'm happy with my life. I say all this because when I was in your place I felt like it was the end and I had no one to tell me different. It's not the end and it does get better. I'm here anytime you want to talk or gripe or......
