Hi, I am Cynthia. I'm being treated for NSCLC. My body handled chemo and radiation well, immunotherapy just keeps you tired and a bit depressed. I have been obsessed with this "death date" thing. No cure. Blah blah (not being sarcastic). I'm an optimist, beat a rare cancer in 2014, 29% survival, 2 months to live. It's been 8 years cancer free. I was in good spirits first time around because they cut it all out of me. My lung cancer, diagnosed 8/11/23, has me emotionally a mess. I can't

Members rallied around someone struggling emotionally with a lung cancer diagnosis and the difficult decision between continuing treatment, palliative care, or hospice. Several members shared their own experiences navigating stage 4 cancer, treatment fatigue, and the deeply personal choice of when to stop aggressive therapies, emphasizing that there is no wrong answer and that people in this community have chosen all paths. A recurring theme was the power of laughter, positivity, and staying connected to support, with members encouraging honest self-reflection about quality of life while reminding each other that anxiety, sadness, and tears are all valid parts of the journey.

Cynthia hang in there you will figure it all out. Whatever your decision is you need to be happy with your choice. Think about it all. Write down your reasons for why you want that choice. Be honest with yourself. You have all of us on this site behind you no matter what. Most of us have dealt with the sickness and side affects. It doesn’t last for ever. God Bless!

Hi Cynthia, it’s good to communicate here. You will get caring responses. We are always “oprn for business”. When an early on dr mentioned palliative care, we were like what?, just cut out the cancer and we’ll be on our way.Lots more to it, but may have had good results here. Let us know how you’re doing.
