Hi....I have always been my own advocate and also for loved ones. I found over many times when I was told the doctor will call you. It could be over a week and no call. I would call and get an answer like, “Oh so & so didn’t call you? Or your next on my list to be called. Especially when waiting for test results concerning cancer , I’ll wait a few days and call the doctor. Waiting for cancer results can be worst than dealing with the disease and all it’s possibilities . GIVE A REASONABLE AMOUT OF WAIT TIME AND IF YOU HAVENT HEARD “ YOU CALL THE OFFICE”. Never be rude, but explain your experiencing anxiety due to the wait for results. They understand, I have been told that when I explained my waiting deleamor. We can be very passive at times, and there are times we shouldn’t. With some of these cancers a few weeks can make a difference before starting treatment. Good Luck.....🙏🏻

Hi Fran, I had 30 Radiations @12 minute ea. 30 days straight. 12 chemo treatments. It was a breeze except the inconvenience of going every day. I would come home have a bite to eat and have to nap.......wow the nap could last 3-4 hrs!!! Doc said to just go with it, your body needs it. Radiation damages good cells as well as cancer cells. I also have severe COPD, and my breathing wasn’t great before treatments, however, I could go shopping , out to dinner, do my grocery shopping. 3/4 thru my treatment my breathing got so bad I had to go on oxygen. Now, I’m on it 24/7 and my husband has to drive me everywhere. Has to do housework ,cooking, laundry, Everything. I have been put on steroids off & on since to help eleaviate the radiation and hoping restore some better breathing. I don’t do well on steroids, breathing gets worst and I get Afib. I have to be cautious due to some heart issues. I end up having to be weaned off it. Nothing other than the treatments have been easy for me with being side tracked with these related issues. My pet scan a couple weeks ago, now shows a lobe on my lower right lung that appears cancer. I’ll see my oncologist next week. I was convinced by my doctors that my being a stage 1 confined strictly to my upper right nodule I wouldn’t have a thing to worry about once I completed my treatments. Now it looks like I need more treatments, how many ? Chemo or radiation, will my breathing be effected again if I even can get it improved now? I’m torn, honestly........ at 78 I’m tired how much more can I endure. If I was a bit younger I would fight like hell, it’s my nature, but this seems as it’s already planned out for me. I’ll keep an open mind once I speak to my oncologist. . Good luck everyone...... give a lot of thought to your treatments, options, 2 Nd opinions. 🙏🏻

We both has been through it I spent most of January in the hospital was in ICU twice my throat had close up they had to put a breathing tube in for four days. All the doctors said it was the radiation treatment but the radiation doctor said no my tomber is in the upper right lung and no where near the throat. Iam home now removing from the time I was in the hospital I don't know how the cancer is going they have me schedule for a scan on May 7 I don't know how the radiation treatment went nobody is tell me anything I have to wait. I'm just trusting God.
