Everything I've read says lung cancer and coughing fits go hand and hand, I've never had coughing fits. Here in the last week I will cough one time and thick mucus has been coming up every time I'm so new to all this I don't even know what to expect
I never had coughing fits either. Just got recently and went to dr and had pneumonia. Got medicine; getting better.
I think if it's adenocarcenoma it's likely to be expected as this cancer is in the mucus lining of the lungs.
Good to get it out of there.
Connie,
Pam is right, you should talk to your oncologist about the productive cough and watch for fever. It may be a lung infection.
Stay positive!

Hi Connie
I never experienced coughing fits before my diagnosis. After my surgery to remove my upper right lobe in Oct 2022 I developed a small cough but it is not productive. I would give your doctor/nurse a call to let them know. This is a great place to learn and ask questions. There are a lot of people who will share their experiences with you. Sending positive vibes your way.
Pam
After my radiation treatment on the mass on the collar bone. I got a sore throat and cough more than usual. I do get some light colored mucus. Dr said it's normal along with the cancer. It definitely can take your breath away when it comes. Let's all take care, we got this together
