I am 65 years old in good shape and have stage 3 lung cancer (3cm tumor in upper left lung & 6x2.5 cm tumor on my mediastinal lymph node). Began radiation & Chemo ( taxol + carboplatin) Feb 23, 2022. So far I have no side effects and feel like nothing is wrong. I should mention that I have been doing high dose vitamin C IV twice a week (90-100 grams per IV dose) since Feb 18. After 2 weeks of Chemo & radiation, my tumors have shrunk by 40%. I believe this due to they vitamin C. The oncologist was quite surprised and aware of my vitamin C treatments. He said keep doing what I am foing.

I'm a fellow victim of stage four lung cancer. I'm in hospice care now - the treatments didn't work for me. They tell me I have about two months left (though I don't feel that bad). The point I want to make is this - just four months ago they said my tumor is shrinking and it sounded very promising. Shortly after that my breathing got worse and a CT scan found that my right lung has collapsed because the tumor grew into the airway. That's when they stopped the treatment and put me in touch with hospice, saying at that time, I had about three months at most. My point is - it changed real fast so don't hide it from your family. Tell them the truth and accept their help. God bless you.

Carmen, I suggest you not wait. You need to share with your family. You will need their support during your treatment. I live in FL and bothy children live up north so as soon as I got my diagnosis I called them each. I haven't started treatment yet, but I will be meeting with two different oncologist next week. Pet scan scheduled tomorrow. Still waiting for biomarkers to come back hope they come soon. Don't want to delay treatment want to kill off this sucker as soon as possible. 😁 I'm a fighter 💪💪💪💪

I too had a real hard time telling my kids and grandkids about my cancer I actually kept it quiet as long as I could then that got them mad when I did tell them that I waited so long to tell them. For so many years my kids and grandkids were after me to quit smoking I think that’s part of the reason I waited so long to tell them.
