Members navigating vaccination decisions within families shared the emotional strain of balancing personal safety with relationships, with many describing difficult choices like requiring loved ones to be vaccinated before visiting or avoiding unvaccinated friends despite the loneliness it creates. Several members emphasized their reasons for getting vaccinated and wearing masks, including severe lung damage, compromised immune systems, and doctors' warnings that COVID could be fatal, with some sharing they grocery shop at off-peak hours, get deliveries, or avoid crowded places entirely. A recurring tension emerged between those expressing frustration with unvaccinated individuals for prolonging the pandemic and endangering immunocompromised community members, and others advocating for personal choice, respect for differing opinions, and prioritizing family connection over fear.

I pretty much am working with one lung and was surprised/shocked when my oncologist showed us the photos from the CT scan that I had 3 weeks ago. My right lung is almost entirely scar tissue, except for a small portion in the right upper lobe that looks about softball size. She told me that that space is all that is working in that lung. She said eventually the left lung will take over the work of both lungs. The scarring was caused by pneumonitis I had a year ago.

So I am very careful, am fully vaxxed and don't want a cold, much less Covid. I have to use oxygen when I'm out and about. I wear a mask everywhere I go and, as 3 doctors have told me, masks work. I finished immunotherapy in early November and have had 3 clear scans.

To All of You - If you have so much confidence in the vaccine and its boosters, why are you so "worried" that those who have made an informed decision not to be vaccinated will infect you? Why do you continue to wear masks and double masks? Why do you jump to the conclusion that they're just fighting "the system"? Why do you feel that they are being selfish? Everyone has the right to make their own healthcare decisions. This vaccine was fast tracked so those who get it, and the boosters, are the guinea pigs for the pharmaceutical companies who manufacture it. I don't know with certainty, but I'm not certain that the boosters were also approved for fast tracking. I get it - you're panicked and you're overreacting - cutting family and friends out of your lives over this. That is your choice.

So I ask again - if you're so confident in the vaccine and the boosters, why are you so afraid that someone who didn't get them is dangerous to you? You are protected, are you not?

Everyone has an opinion, and each has there reason for what they believe…First off I will give my reasons for my beliefs…I am not trying to convert anyone, just sharing… First off NO one knows the long term effects are, we would know less if not for Israel and Germany. The clinical trials should have been longer since it was new technology. I know people who took the 2 shot then boosted 3 times and still got Covid. People should do their own research and not just believe what they are told.. Like I said not trying to convert anyone or be argumentative. Just giving my 2cent opinion

I had both shots. I still wear a mask. I have no use for people who care so little about me and themselves that they can’t bother with a little piece of cloth. The whole county next to ours has decided not to mandate masks or vaccinations. I do a lot in that county, dinner, shopping etc. But I think I will stay out of there for a while.

Hey Ladies
Can you imagine if we got Covid along with the Lung Cancer? That would be horrible. RM
