Members shared varied experiences with CyberKnife versus traditional radiation and chemotherapy for stage 3A lung cancer, with several noting that CyberKnife treatments were surprisingly manageable and some expressing relief at avoiding surgery altogether. Many community members described successful outcomes with different treatment combinations, including one member in remission for two years after stage 4 diagnosis and CyberKnife, another completing chemo and radiation with no spread, and several benefiting from immunotherapy like Opdivo or Imfinzi to strengthen the immune system against remaining cancer cells. A recurring theme was the critical importance of understanding your tumor's biomarkers, seeking second opinions from major cancer centers, and recognizing that treatment eligibility often depends on factors like tumor location, COPD, and whether the cancer is near vital organs like the heart or esophagus.

I have stage four lung and brain cancer. I went under radiation and chemo for the lungs. Cyber knife was used on my brain. It's going into two years now and I have not suffered any side effects. I did a MRI last month and a pet scan last week. The results came back no new areas of concern and what is there seems to just be scar tissue from the radiation. I have been on opdivo for more than two years now and considering all I've been through my oncologist and radiology have done a great job in managing my cancer
