Always expect the unexpected during treatment. The doctors are there to assist you with the treatment but that does not mean that they know everything about you or your course of action that you are going through and yes, miracles do happen, have faith and you will all right.
It depends on the oncology team. They hate giving bad news so when they do I pay attention. I did have 2 Doctors I rejected because they wanted procedures to make money. I prefer University paid Dr because they get salaries.
But if a patient is on deaths door I ask lots of questions. If the patient has cancer that has travel via lymph nodes to other organs the scans show that. Ask for the complete pathology reports. Me dead brother didn't even go to his doctors until his disease had gone to far. He was angry too. In denial. He died at home with nursing care for pain. But the anger was intense. I talked to his doctors personally. Got the documents. But in general they tell the truth so family can adjust.
