Members shared their personal experiences with shortness of breath related to lung cancer, exploring possible causes including inflammation of the pleural lining, radiation scarring, COPD, AFIB, medications like beta blockers, and infections. Several members encouraged checking medications carefully, staying in contact with oncologists, and getting imaging done promptly, with one member finding remarkable breathing improvement after switching beta blockers. A recurring theme was the importance of not ignoring new symptoms, leaning on your care team quickly, and offering each other emotional support while waiting for answers.

Hi Marcy, yes i am, all of a sudden. I find it difficult to let enough air in. I have been working out regularly so that is not the reason. My last scan was stable but my imune system is not completely back online so i am wondering if i have not contracted something? I contacted my oncologist just to be sure..It is possible that it is because you have not worked out for a couple of months. if so it should get better over time...

There are many possibilities, Brigitte. In my case, I had and still have C.O.P.D. I had SBRT for my lung tumor, and now that tumor is scarred and no longer functions in taking a breath. In my case, perhaps others too, it's possible my heart simply can't keep up with the demand when I exercise, thus oxygen doesn't get where it should be. If you have ANY doubts, have it thoroughly checked out. :-)
