They are telling you the truth. Actually, it will interfere with your labs before chemo. I tried the soursop and my labs went crazy. My creatine was high, and my potassium was low. That what they mean.

I wish conventional doctors would support the supplements. I have asked 2 oncologist about soursop, dandelion root, apricot seeds and turkey tail mushrooms. I get the same response. Don't take any supplements because we don't know how it will react with your chemo medication.

What natural remedies and complementary treatments can help with lung cancer symptoms?

While natural remedies and complementary treatments can't cure lung cancer, they may help manage symptoms and improve quality of life when used alongside standard cancer treatments. Always talk with your doctor before starting any new therapy.

Supplements that may help:
- Astragalus: May strengthen the immune system and reduce nausea
- Mistletoe: Could help reduce chemotherapy side effects
- Vitamin C and D: May improve survival rates and reduce treatment side effects
- Medicinal mushrooms (turkey tail): Might boost immune function
- Ginger: Can help with cough relief and nausea from chemotherapy

Complementary therapies to consider:
- Acupuncture: May relieve pain and nausea from chemotherapy
- Aromatherapy with essential oils: Can ease nausea and reduce stress
- Meditation: Helps reduce anxiety and muscle tension
- Massage therapy: May ease anxiety and pain
- Low-impact exercise (yoga, tai chi): Can boost energy and reduce fatigue

Natural remedies for cough:
- Honey in warm tea or lemon water
- Chamomile, peppermint, or raspberry tea to soothe throat
- Ginger tea to reduce inflammation

Important caution: Some supplements can interfere with cancer treatments or medications. Beta-carotene supplements, for example, can increase lung cancer risk in smokers. High antioxidant supplements may affect how radiation works.
