Ok, read this carefully. 3 or more times. There is no "CURED". "CURED" is for a great piece of beef or paint after its set for a long periodcof time. For us cancer survivors. "CURED" just mean a new set of normal parameters. When we reach morecthan 5 years in remission, withoutvany recurrance. We continue to follow the set of guidelines we used during treatment to sustain the new normal. We bo longer do the things we once thought we enjoyed. Things like drinking alcohol, smoking, over eating to suppressor feelings and insecurities. Now, we don't drink alcohol, we don't consume processed sugar. We don't smoke. We are happyvto let the toxic thoughts thay keptvuscsock out. We eat healthier, we learn to live more stress free lives. We learn to vent healthier. We adapt to this new normal. Rather than live in hopelessness and despair. We learn to survive for others and ourselves.
I was first diagnosed 3b nsclc. I could not have surgery either. I could not even have a port it was too large a tumor. After chemo, radiation and immune therapy. I went 4 yrs in remission . My radiology told me they can cure cancer. It gave me hope. I was not one of those cured she talked about. . It came back on the other lung. Cured I think for us is always being on guard with tests and living a good clean healthier life. But even those who live healthier can get a any kind of cancer. In short, they can contain it to give you more yrs. Put yourself in God's hands. He will see you through and give you peace and strength to carry on. God bless you and your husband.
