How can you manage housework while caring for your husband during his early lung cancer treatment?
It's completely understandable that you're feeling tired. Caring for someone during cancer treatment while managing a household is exhausting.
Here are some practical strategies to lighten your load:
• Prioritize tasks and focus on the most important ones first
• Break things down into smaller, manageable steps
• Set limits and don't hesitate to ask for help when you need it
• Say no to non-essential commitments
• Use a calendar to avoid overscheduling yourself
Consider asking friends or family members to help with specific tasks like laundry, meal prep, or cleaning. Many people want to help but don't know what to do - giving them concrete tasks makes it easier for everyone.
Remember, it's okay if the house isn't perfect right now. Your energy is precious, and you need to conserve it for both your husband's care and your own well-being. Focus on what truly matters and let go of the rest for now.
