I am waiting to see oncologist with final biopsy results. Right now I know it’s NSCC Krass mutation but I need another mutation to be found so as I can have targeted treatment. Anyone out there who can help me as I’m scared to death as chemo and immunotherapy if no gene found. Also nurse confused me by saying 1 year to live yet tells me aggressive chemo and immuno for 9 months???? To live for just 3 months more? Something is not right here but I’m having a hard time finding anyone who is in or… read more
The immunotherapy didn't make me sick with side effects, but it caused pericarditis (which they say is rare) and once a treatment affects your heart they stop. From what I understand most people tolerate very well and stay on it long term.
No hair loss and being sick that’s a plus! My question is that to get more time with family etc does that mean though that treatment will be ongoing to give you that time? I was told that too but my question needs to be that the treatment will still be ongoing so will I still feel crap? I wish you all the best c
I was on keytruda and developed myasthenia gravis so I had to stop. I had steriidactic radiation and I am on lumakras, AG12 target therapy. In all probability I will be starting chemotherapy on Thursday after my oncologist reviews the CAT scan taken that morning.. I have metastatic non-small cell lung cancer stage 4. Life is not a bowl of cherries but I'll still take the pits if it gives me more time with my family and dear friends... I am frightened of the chemotherapy but my oncologist tells me I can handle it that I will not lose my hair and that I will not be sick. Hoping for the best but preparing for the worst
So immunotherapy was worse than chemo? It’s the treatments I more afraid of if I’m honest and have to ask if it’s worth it. I am seeing oncologist Weds and I’m pretty sure that’s what she’ll say chemo and immuno. I have Krass but won’t know the exact mutation till Weds
I have KRAS 12V mutation. I was diagnosed 11/2023 with stage 4 NSCLC Adenocarcinoma with metastasis to my scapula bone. I had chemo, radiation and immunotherapy. I had to quit immunotherapy due to side effects. Don't give up and don't let them give you an expiration date. Get a second opinion if only to make yourself feel better about decisions being made.
