I hope that this helps you. We all go through these valleys and the darkness of this journey with cancer. I refuse to have a pity party with me as the star of the show, but instead ask God to enable me to be a blessing in some way to others with cancer. I just hope that I am a blessing. I believe that it depends upon the type of cancer that you have and what your oncologists believe are the best course of treatment. I have non small cell lung cancer, stage 3A. Initially, I went through a series of radiation treatment. Most recently, I have undergone 6 wks. chemo, 6 wks radiation, and am currently undergoing targeted immunotherapy. Please have an open discussion with your oncologists, stay positive, and avoid anyone who is negative and non supportive! most importantly - TRUST GOD

A complete course of chemotherapy usually includes 4-8 cycles, lasting approximately 3-6 months total. During treatment sessions, you'll need to stay for a few hours while receiving the therapy through an IV. Your specific treatment schedule will be customized based on several factors:
• The stage of your cancer
• The type of NSCLC you have
• Your overall health
• How well you tolerate the medications
• Whether you're receiving combination therapy with other treatments
• Your height and weight

Your oncologist will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan that best suits your situation.
