If you have lung cancer, it's important to be mindful of your voice use. Speaking too much or too loudly could strain your voice, especially if you're already experiencing hoarseness from the cancer itself or its treatments. Many people with lung cancer experience voice changes that can make communication challenging. Radiation treatment and other cancer therapies can affect your throat and voice box, making them more sensitive. Some members have reported ongoing throat issues even a year after treatment. If you're experiencing voice strain or hoarseness, it's recommended to speak at a comfortable volume and take breaks when needed. Always discuss any persistent voice changes with your cancer care team.

I am sorry to hear that. You may want to contact his doctor's office to see if there is something they can give him to help with the cough. Maybe some warm honey tea or just anything to keep his throat moist will help. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. I hope this get resolved soon.

My dad has lost his voice recently, his voice is very hoarse and quiet now but he still talks a lot and pushes himself to talk even louder. I noticed he coughs more after long periods of talking and I am wondering if talking is causing it in a way. Please share with me your experiences if you suffered from this symptom.
