Thanks for yiur reply. Happily the Chemo eliminated the adrenal tumor. Most recent Pet CT showed no light up o adrenal but showed light up on back of left lung. Then CT confirmed no mass on adrenal and also no mass on back of lung. Sigh, cancer has ups and downs. But today it’s UP.
I had my first biopsy for lung cancer, they took the sample while I was on my side. It came back clear. A year later, I had another biopsy that went through my back, it showed lung cancer.
Hi Abobbi,
I figured the doctors would want to keep up with the current treatment plan in hopes of knocking out the problem with the adrenal gland. That is the purpose of the follow-on chemo, to kill off any cancer in his system.
As for mine, the 2nd cancer (LC) started as small nodules back in 2018, but we were hoping they were caused by emphysema. It took until 2022 for them to start glowing on the PET scans and finally grow large enough to get a biopsy.
The 1st cancer I was treated for was the throat cancer, but I believe it started in my lungs.
Praying for good results in both our cases!
Tony
Good morning Abobbi,
I can't say if he should have an Adrenalectomy. Though I'm sure I would be worried about it the same way you are, as well. I would ask the doctor if the course of chemo is sufficient to actually knock any possibility of malignancy out. Maybe seek a second opinion on the treatment plan.
As for me, the biopsy did come back positive for squamus cell carcinoma. That is the same type of throat cancer I had in 2020. They didn't have a sample of the 1st biopsy from 2020 to compare to the last one. But, since it was the same type, they called the LC a secondary stage 4 from the throat cancer. The number of tumors, spread through 4 lobes would classify it as 3B or 4 anyway. I know in my heart it started in my lungs.
Stay positive!

They took a swollen lymph node that lit up on the PET/CT scan along with samples of one of the tumors. The lymph node came back negative.
Stay positive!
