Hello Dee7. While I don't know mine has as of yet, I suspect it. I've had headaches and some pretty severe memory and confusion issues. And I'm only 59. I've been complaining to primary care doctors for over a year about those problems just for them to be ignored. Things are moving VERY slow in my diagnosis so Monday I am contacting a different cancer center to further determine my stage and type of lung cancer(biopsy). And the doctor that answered me in this group said a Pet scan is needed to see if cancer has spread to other places
a.s a.p.
So in the meantime, during this slow process, I did some reading. Constant headaches, confusion, memory problems, trouble with words or speaking, lethargy, extreme fatigue not due to treatments:those are all symptoms of cancer in the brain. I have not experienced seizures or weakness on one side of the body, but those are associated with it as well.
One of the biggest signs I have is the memory. I really thought I had sudden onset dementia. Problems remembering left from right have been a real problem for me recently. And I live near the same town I have lived all my life. Inability to remember what street something is on that I have known my whole life. And suddenly problems getting east and west confused.
I hope this helps answer your question. You might pose it to the doctor section here. But this is the information I was able to read from some reputable lung and brain cancer resources. It explained alot and I fear this is happening for me.
I consider myself " a warrior in wait". Getting what I need done for a complete diagnoses has been all too slow. For that reason I am calling a whole new cancer team and cancer center on Monday. The doctor I consulted in this group confirmed that a biopsy and a Pet Scan (to determine if cancer has already metastasized to the brain, lymph nodes, or other organs) should have been done already. Until that happens I can't even fight the good fight.
Hi..... got my brain scan results yesterday, and NO CANCER on my brain!!! Thank you God!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Great news Dee!
I am so sorry you have been going thru so much, and not to mention the threat & worry. You should have had a Pet & Brain Scan before your treatment began, and shortly after it was completed. I did and I was clean of cancer in the brain, but I am now having some memory loss as you, very tired, and just not feeling myself. I am scheduled for a Brain Scan this Wed. I was just told that 50-60% of lung cancers spread to the brain. They scan often and only zap the area it’s at rather than the whole brain, due to many serious side effects , some permanent. Blurred vision is also a symptom. I have that also. Thankfully I’ll know my results by the end of this week. I’m having my chemo potty removed Wed. I’m done with any further treatments. I’m 78, and don’t want to spend my last days in & out of treatments and feeling so lousy. Good luck, let me know how you make out.
Hi Dee
