I had 2 tumors, both stage 1 and they were genetically unrelated. I am KRAS positive and don’t recall if I’m G12C. Have to search thru all my papers to see if I’m G12C, G12V or G12D. The drug for G12C is Sotorasib. It was originally used for Small cell lung cancer. I’ve read that it does have some unpleasant side effects. As of now, I’m not on any immunotherapy meds or chemo. Just scans every 4 months. With KRAS positive there aren’t too many choices, however, more are being developed. Your friend should be having CAP (chest, abdomen and pelvic) scans with contrast as this gene likes to attack organs like the pancreas, colon, liver, etc. I hope this info is helpful.

If it is Lenvima it has some very serious side effects. I’m currently on it and have been for almost 2 months, between diarrhea, stomach pain, high blood pressure (taking pills for that) I would rather have chemo.

Hi again Terri8, Her Dr recommended Krazati, a pill that's taken daily and it was approved in Dec. 2022. so she may be taking that and I hope she doesn't have bad side effects with it. Thank you very much Lois5 and I'll relay that info to my friend. She told me that her Dr recommended Krazati, a pill taken daily and it was approved in Dec. 2022. I've read about Sotorasib also and told her about it. She's going to be getting a brain Mri and a pet scan soon also. Thank you Terri8 and I'll tell her what you said. She had chemo and immunotherapy for 5 hrs and it didn't do anything for her as she found out recently from her recent scan results and she's very disappointed. Now, her Dr is telling her about a pill that she would take once a day that's a targeted therapy for KRAS G12C and I can't remember what she said the name of it is. Thanks again! Connie
